Saint Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of our school. Saint Francis of Assisi is known for his deep love for all creation, serving as a model for environmental stewardship and compassion. Born into a wealthy family in Italy in the late 12th century, he renounced his possessions to live a life of poverty, founded the Franciscan Order, and is remembered for his preaching to animals. He reminds us of the importance of:

• Humility: He rejected wealth, status, and power, famously giving up his wealthy lifestyle to follow God and live in poverty,
• Compassion and Love: He showed immense tenderness toward the poor and vulnerable. He viewed animals and the environment as his brothers and sisters. His life exemplifies the stewardship of creation, inspiring students to care for God's world and the people in it.
• Being a peacemaker: In a time of violent conflict and crusades, Francis chose to preach peace, reconciliation, and love.
• Joy: He greeted every day with a jubilant attitude, refusing to let sickness or pain steal his inner peace
• Spiritual Devotion: His life was anchored by intense prayer, gratitude, and a desire to closely mirror the life of Christ.

Finally, St Francis teaches us that Actions Speak Louder Than Words.  He famously emphasised practical example over mere talk, teaching that our daily lifestyle should embody our deepest values.

Our house saints inspire our school community, both staff and pupils, to live out the Gospel values in their daily lives.

Each house saint represents a unique path to holiness and helps us grow in virtue and character.
